Mother Road - Route 66 became phenomenon already in beginning itself. Route 66 can not to wait to their rebirth in February 1987 when The Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona was formed by a small group of people from the Arizona Route 66 communities, led by Angel Delgadillo of Seligman, and Jerry Richard and David Wesson, both of Kingman. There was written a lot of about Mother Road - Route 66 history, that there is no sense to repeated again. I thing better content about Mother Road - Route 66 history is accessible at Wiki than I can ever write. However from my point of view Mother Road - Route 66 is became a phenomenon especially for it was first. The first is that the west coast of America merged with the East.

Why?

Because each US States was building the Route 66 section, regardless of other, although in a very similar time
Because there was a real need for transport and communication links between US states
Because there were scattered part of road between the towns and villages across USA

Personally I was charmed by Mother Road - Route 66 through the Easy Rider movie. In this movie rode Peter Fonda most famous chopper ever. I wanted this chopper too and the fuck still wants! So I bought a motorcycle Jawa 639 Chopper "oil master" and wanted to rebuild the "Captain America" ... I really did not work. The fact is that Peter Fonda was obviously a big fan of Route 66, because before he produced and starred in the movie Easy Rider, played a major role in the film "The Grapes of Wrath", which gave the world famous Route 66 pseudonym of "The Mother Road". Of course it did not invent this actor, but writer John Steinbeck in his book, serving as a template for this film. I quote: "Route 66 is The Mother Road, the road of flight.". I can not say that Peter Fonda is the essence of hard-core bikers, but it's just a fucking happenstance, right?

In fact the Mother Road -Route 66 still is as good as old days. Route 66 abounds in manysmall townswith old neonbanners, gaspumps andservices, restaurants, motels and hotelsin retro style, including the operators rememberingto gloryand the number of cronies, customers and travelers from the days when Route 66 was The Best. Everything ended exactly the day when bypasses were built around the Mother Road - Route 66. High-speed roads did not respects a lot of small towns and peoplejust fundamentally dependenton the old road,Route 66. Thus arose "Ghost Towns" by the residentsand ownersof "Mom and Pop Businesses" went out from Route 66. Stayed only old loyal, who made it logically, what would have tried to makeeach of us -to stay alive. And createda cult. Cult of Route 66 still lives, and lives a fucking interesting.It was andis the reason whyI decided to reduce myself and go on Route 66 to drive through the Mother Road - Route 66.You should do it the same!
