Mother Road - Route 66 Itinerary merge

Your costs will obviously depend on the length of stay, requirements for level of accommodation, food and comfort at all complex life. Instructions can be found in my itinerary with a list of all cities (includes addresses of all the motels where I stayed), which the Mother Road - Route 66 passes.

What you need to know before realization Mother Road - Route 66 trip

Before heading to the U.S., you will have to solve a couple of legislative crap. The legislation was originally what I was discouraged from realizing tour of Mother Road - Route 66. US restriction according to immigration politics was a little bite changed over a few years, well I changed my approach and priorities as a foreigner. Next, determine the path. Czechs have to pay for biometric passport proofs CZE 600 and it takes a 3 weeks. If you want to pay a little bit more money you can receive biometric passport earlier. But why you want to complicate your situation… thing ahead!

Biometric passport can establish only municipal authorities of municipalities with extended jurisdiction according to permanent residence of a citizen:

Municipality of Prague 1-22
Municipality of Brno
Municipality of Ostrava
Municipality of Pilsen

Pay attention on:

Camera is very sensitive and it can recognize all the shit on your face
Biometric passport is prone to damage whenever the chip is inserted into the plastic. It can not to be bending, exposure to extreme temperatures and weather. Behave according to it!
When you receive biometric passport, please check it in the chip reader immediately on the office. It should be done by clerk, but you know, what can fuck up, a fuck is.

Please read detail information, which you have to successfully accomplish and can receive “Registration approved” by fucking system!

Than prepare:

Your biometric passport - number
Fly ticket - recommended (not mandatory field)
Confirmation of hotel reservation in USA - recommended (not mandatory field)

Than you can start a fill in Electronic System for Travel Authorization. Actually The Ministry of Security of Czech Republic introduces the fee for ESTA registration. This Fuckin 'fee consists of two parts. One is cost for processing at US$ 4. The second fee is payable for approval after the successful approval sent by application in the amount of US$ 10. Total cost for this funny is US$ 14 and it can only pay by credit or debit card. Fee collection is dragged by encashment. Fucking Yanks...

The next step is processing driving license, which must be actual with the appropriate validation on the type of vehicle, you want to borrow in the USA. In my case it was a motorcycle.

To process for new driving license you will need:

One passport-size photograph
CZK 50 for government stamp
It takes approx. 3 weeks - could be reduced for some fee

Who is affected? Anyone who has an old driver's license, man! How do I know? Check the web, man! When you get a new driver's license, apply for international driver's license valid in the USA. Exhibits on the basis of a valid driver's license and is valid 12 months from date of issue.

To process for international driving license you will needt:

One passport-size photograph
CZK 50 for government stamp
Driver's license will be issued while you wait

If you want to travel Mother Road - Route 66 with the Czech Route 66 Association, then you do not have to take care about booking hotels and providing fly tickets as it arranges Zdenek Jurásek. It is paid service, of course. If you want to drive a motorcycle or a car you will pay US$ 1 380. If you want to take a place at the bus you will pay US$ 1 632.

Further more expenses you will have to count with on Mother Road - Route 66 is your personal consumption. Into personal consumption involved:

Gas
Food
Entrance fee to museum, galleries, parks, etc.
Petty charges
Presents

For me, this amount was the sum of US$ 1 851. The range of amount depends on how much you want to spend for the "fun". Do not limit yourself if you can when you travel Mother Road - Route 66. Your outgoings around Mother Road - Route 66 helps to survive of all people, who is living here. Support Route 66. This is the so-called social dimension to your trip.

Follows bargain for Travel Insurance. Personally, I have good experience with Top Insurance portal. Select "Travel Insurance" and other required items and submit. I accepted offer by Generali Insurance with respect to the scope of performance vs. price. I had to pay CZK 600 for 20 days.

The next step is to reserve and purchase fly ticket. I recommend to realize this point first, but I mention it here ... The price depends on your preferences, experience and requirements asked on the fly ticket. However online shop Královna.cz works well. I bought a fly ticket about six months before a planned tour of the Mother Road - Route 66 and I had to pay for it CZK 14 337, all fucking taxes included.

The next step, which of course go before others, for me it did, the hotel reservations. I searched hotel through the Google Maps API, but supposedly works well Booking.com. I had to pay US$ 35.99 per night in Motel 6.

The next step, which of course go before others, for me it did, the motorcycle reservations. I booked my motorcycle at EagleRiders. There you can choose required term, motorcycle and other data’s and submit. Than you will transfer money to specify account stated on the invoice. I had to pay US$ 3 454 for Harley-Davidson Street Glide, insurance included. I recommend include EVIP insurance (against damage, theft, etc.) which is US$ 24 per day. It is up to you. I took it, for each case… In any case there is US$ 1 000participation due to agreement. You have to count with US$ 1 000 as deposit on your bank account which is EagleRiders keep in case of damage motorcycle. If you return damage motorcycle or motorcycle will be stolen, deposit will be transferred to EagleRiders bank account. Pay attention to sufficient balance on your bank account and setup your credit card.

Before leaving, I recommend setup your debit or credit card limit, from the reason stated above, to cover your needs for additional financing costs. I got a card from KB - VISA and I did not have the slightest problem. I really consider the card as core factor for grateful trip. When the card not working, for any reason, you will no matter what card you have or what picture on it ... and your dream trip around Mother Road - Route 66 will be fucked!

Finally I recommend buying reduction to US socket outlet. You will need it and chase it in the US is stupid... I bought it for CZK 150. You can not save any money and generate a lot of problems with the phone or with other electrical appliances you have.

Dress to the trip around Mother Road - Route 66

Good to take especially “functional underwear”. Why? Because Mother Road - Route 66 is very long trip and you can meet fickle weather. To overcome a big Rocky Mountains where I met snowstorm in May… If you drive motorcycle always use high quality leather clothes. You can always undressing yourself in any time and anywhere...

Leave everything else at home. Towels are available in each motel, as well as soap and shampoo. Shave and a haircut you can also do at home... if you are not "baggage". If you are, you can go to the local barber shop. What was about my case? Usually there is always accessible some PC in the Motel. If you do not want to connect to the internet, you can use it free of charge.
